Family-owned and operated since 1971

Welcome to The Light Center! We are thrilled to share with you our story, how we got started, and a bit about what drives us.

It all began in 1971 when our founder, Larry Edwards, started selling his first lighting fixtures and delivering them to customers in his station wagon. His passion for great service led him to develop strong relationships with home builders and lighting vendors and after a lot of hard work and dedication, the business bloomed into a huge success.

As the business grew, Larry’s daughter, Jennifer Johnson, joined the team. Starting from the ground up, she built fixtures, worked in the office, and learned about the business behind the scenes. After college, Jennifer began lighting design training and has enjoyed being in the business since 2000 and officially took the reins from her dad in 2019 when she stepped into an ownership role.

We take pride in being at the forefront of the lighting industry, and we're always striving to stay ahead of the curve.

Our Lighting Showroom

Our showroom is the best place to get inspired, troubleshoot, or meet one of our lighting designers directly!

We are located in Fort Collins, CO spanning 8,000 sq. ft., with over 100,000 products available online and additional custom options that can be created.

Our lighting team is made up of certified lighting specialists and industry experts with extensive backgrounds in lighting design for both residential and commercial spaces throughout the US.

We also employ a master electrician and professional installers for Northern Colorado projects.
